Illinois Child Burn Injury Lawyer

If you are a grownup and you are burned, it's bad. But when it happens to a child, it is heartbreaking. Children don't have any emotional mechanism to understand what has happened to them. Think of all the normal problems every child experiences, and then add the pain, disfigurement and psychological trauma of surviving a fire.

"One of my worst hospital memories," says Rich Webster, "was seeing a child who was undergoing skin grafts start screaming when he heard the sound of the hospital gurney drawing near to take him to the day's procedure."

Child Burn Accident Attorney for Minnesota

And yet children get burned in large numbers — in their beds, in the kitchen, in the bathtub, in the family car. And very often, the cause of the burn is a defective product, unsafe property, negligence, inadequate labeling or poor construction. When this is the case, families may seek a measure of compensation by filing a lawsuit against the responsible party.

Scalding Injuries to Children

Scalding injuries are one of the most common injuries that happen to small children. Oftentimes a water heater is kept at too high a temperature and a child is burned quickly when exposed. Check your water heater to make sure the temperature is at a safe level!

Helping Families in Nebraska and Kansas

Rich Webster has helped families all over the country obtain compensation from manufacturers of defective and dangerous products. He is passionate about holding negligent parties accountable for children's burn injuries.

If your child has been severely burned in a fire, I will come to you, wherever you are, to discuss your case. I am not only a father of young children, but also a burn victim myself. I will seek the justice and compensation you deserve for your grief and frustration at what happened to your loved child.

The Danger of Defective Smoke Detectors

Another common cause of burn injury is faulty smoke detectors. There are two different types of technology currently in use for smoke detectors: ionization detectors and photoelectric detectors. The ionization technology is good for detecting fires that are flaming. The photoelectric type are better at detecting smoldering, smoky fires. Ideally, both technologies are used together in one smoke detector.

Obtaining Compensation for Terrible Burn Injuries

Some fires take our children away completely. In addition to personal injury cases relating to fires, I serve as a lawyer in wrongful death suits arising from fires.

Until irresponsible parties are held accountable for the terrible harm caused by fires, I will be representing families and seeking of compensation for their pain.

Fire injury recovery is Illinois child burn injury attorney Rich Webster's No. 1 concern. Let him assist you in your recovery. Call or e-mail him to discuss your injuries.
